Amazon India Expands its Portfolio of Smart Home Devices Compatible with Alexa
Amazon India has expanded its portfolio of smart home devices compatible with Alexa which basically means that customers can now control their smart home cameras, AC, TVs, remote controls and set-top boxes with their voice.
When talking about smart home cameras, it can be said that Alexa can now show live feeds from Alexa compatible cameras on the screen of the newly launched Echo Spot. With the help of the Amazon Echo, consumers can now switch on the lamp, turn on the geyser without getting out of the bed, they can simply do all these things just with their voice. Users can do a lot more with these Alexa enabled Smart Homes as everything can be controlled just with the user’s voice.
Some cameras such as Ezviz Mini O Wi-Fi Camera and D-Link DCS-P6000LH Mini HD Wi-Fi Camera help users in accessing the video feed by giving voice commands such as “Alexa, show the drawing room” or “Alexa, show me the garden”. With these voice commands, you can view a camera location without lifting a finger by using your Echo Spot.
Currently, Alexa is also supporting Smart Voice Remotes or IR Blasters such as Oak Remote from Oakter and Silvan Sirus with the help of which the customers can control the existing devices like ACs, TVs and Set-Top boxes with their voice. For example, consumers can switch on or off their TVs, decrease or increase the temperature of ACs at the comfort of sitting on the couch just with one voice. One can say “Alexa, set the temperature of AC to 16 degrees” or “Alexa, change the channel to Star Plus on the TV” and Alexa will do the same as directed.
Some models of Sony’s company latest Smart TV (Bravia version) now comes with pre-installed Alexa skill which in turn helps customers in controlling their TVs with their voice by speaking to their Echo devices. With this technology, customers will be able to control all programs in the television such as switching it on/ off, changing channels, changing volume and many more by just making voice commands to Alexa. For example, one can say “Alexa, set the volume to 16 on TV” or “Alexa, play Youtube on TV” and many more. All these things can be done just with the user’s voice.
It has also been said by Amazon India that customers will also be able to create routines which allow them to automate a series of various actions using a single voice command of your choice. For example, one can say “Alexa, its movie time” and Alexa can be programmed to switch on the television, dim the lights and turn on the AC.
According to Puneesh Kumar, Country Manager for Alexa Experience and Devices, Amazon India, it has been said that with the introduction of Alexa and voice-enabled systems in the home, customers are seeing now that Smart Home isn’t as complicated as they thought earlier.
As per the sources, it’s also been said that last month, Amazon had partnered with Embassy Group to bring Alexa-enabled Smart Homes in India. These Smart Homes comes pre-installed with Amazon Echo range of smart speakers with the help of which users will be able to control their Smart Home appliances, play music, make and receive calls from users who have an Echo device or having the free Alexa mobile application.
Amazon India also claims that customers can select from a wide range of Alexa enabled Smart Home devices which includes Smart Voice Remotes, bulbs, LEDs, plugs, cameras, TVs and many more from the Smart Home store only at Amazon.
